Members of the Fort Gordon community assembled at 8:45 a.m. Sept 11 in front of the flagpole at Signal Towers for two minutes of silence to honor those who were killed [more than 3,000] and injured [more than 6,000] during the terrorists' attacks on the United States Sept. 11, 2001. American Flight 11 from Boston, Mass., crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center in Manhattan at 8:46 a.m. Sept. 11, 2001. The Remembrance ceremony was led by Brig. Gen.
