Cleaning service
The Director of Public Works and the Director of Contracting expect to be able to award the new contract for custodial services as soon as Aug. 2. At the time of award, only basic custodial services should be expected. It will be two or three weeks before the contractor can fully hire and train the full workforce and be able to provide all custodial services. It is imperative that we maintain clean and sanitary facilities across Fort Gordon. This will require a decentralized self help approach with reliance on internal assets to accomplish essential custodial services. The Union President of Local 2017 has been made aware of the situation as well as the need for Department of Army civilians to volunteer to assist in the effort to maintain our work places until a new contract can be finalized.
