Balfour Beatty Communities residents now have recycling options! The new Recycle Drop-Off Point is located on Wainwright Circle; just off of Kilbourne behind Freedom Park. Collection containers are in place. You can currently drop off cardboard and paper. In the near future, the site will accept plastic, glass and aluminum as well. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday, April 22, Earth Day, at 1 p.m.

Support the Freedom Park Elementary School Library by participating in the Balfour Beatty Communities Book Drive. The drive will run through March 31. The Freedom Park Elementary School library is in need of books for middle school students, ages 9 to 12 years old. Balfour Beatty Communities will collect new and gently used books to donate to the school. This is open to everyone, not just Balfour Beatty Communities Residents. This is a great way to touch a child’s life. Books can be dropped off Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Balfour Beatty Communities Community Management Office located at 155 3rd Avenue - in front of Olive Terrace. All the books we receive will be delivered to the Freedom Park Elementary School Library on April 1. For more information, call (706) 772-7041.

Balfour Beatty Communities is once again rolling out Lawn Care for the Deployed. For residents with a fenced in back yard and a deployed service member, we will gladly take care of the lawn for you. With our new landscaping crew, Piedmont, at the helm, we are confident that this program will be successful this year. To sign up, please complete a registration form available in the office. Be sure to include a copy of the deployment orders. We will then take care of the rest for you.

Last summer, it was announced that all residents of Balfour Beatty Communities at Fort Gordon could receive free pool passes for the Courtyard pool for the season. Residents will be able to receive free pool passes again this summer. During the 2009 summer season, the announcement was made well into the summer which created conflict for those of you who had already purchased your passes. In an effort to have a more efficient system of issuing pool passes this year, MWR would like us to remind all residents that this benefit will be available again and to hold off on purchasing any passes. When Family Morale Welfare and Recreation provides Balfour Beatty Communities with contact information and pass availability dates, we will release that information to you.

Our first walk of the season will be this Friday at 10 a.m. in Olive Terrace. Please meet in the Community Management Office parking lot by 9:55 a.m.
