Set clocks ahead; change smoke detector batteries
It is that time of year again! March 14 signifies the changing to Daylight Savings. This is a good reminder for all of our Fort Gordon residents to check all of your smoke detectors in your homes and for those of you with battery operated detectors; it is time to replace your detector batteries with new fresh batteries!
A leading cause of death due to malfunctioning smoke detectors is due to detector batteries not being changed, or taken out of the detectors all together. It is very important to remember to keep working batteries in all of your detectors for the life safety of your family!
Always test your smoke detectors once a month; and if the detector does not work, have it replaced immediately! Family Housing Residents; if your detectors do not work, contact the Balfour Beatty Emergency Service immediately for repair! If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Fort Gordon Fire Prevention Office at 791-5207.
