There’s 35 days left of the 2009 Tax Season. If you haven’t filed your federal and/or state taxes, it’s time to gather up those W-2s, Form 1099-DIVs and other essential paperwork and get your taxes prepared and sent off.
It’s hard to imagine finding a real bargain when contemplating doing your taxes. Fortunately, the Fort Gordon Tax Center is just the place to go to get a real deal. It’s a free service for those that qualify.
Recently two Advanced Individual Training Soldiers at Fort Gordon decided to check it out. Pfc. James Carr of Fayetteville, S.C., and Pfc. Theophilus Harp of Orlando, Fla., made a trip in February to the Fort Gordon Tax Center, located at the Courtyard, Bldg. 36708, at 36th Street and Kilbourne Street.
“Sgt. 1st Class Victoriano Herrera, [a platoon sergeant assigned to Company B, 369th Signal Battalion, where both Soldiers were assigned] encouraged us to get our taxes done at the post’s tax center,” said Harp. [The Soldiers have since graduated and received orders to their next assignment.] “He said it would be advantageous to us.
