Morris throws best party in town
Known for its Southern artwork, the museum will exhibit some of more recent acquisitions. Artwork by Samuel F.B. Morse, Elliot Dangerfield, Isabel Cohen and Jonathan Green are now on display.
A fundraising gala will kick off the weekend of festivities followed by the popular Artrageous Sunday event beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday. Costumed docents will bring the paintings to life, and children will participate in several special art projects. In addition, Tara Scheyer of the Mud Puppy Band will perform.

An Augusta tradition will be bright and early Saturday morning.
The Junior League of Augusta’s 56th annual attic sale will be from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Augusta Exchange Club Fairgrounds on Fourth and Hale Streets. The line will begin forming at 6 a.m.
Several of the permanent buildings on the grounds will be filled with goods including children’s items, electronics, household items, books and holiday decorations.
The Junior League of Augusta raises money for charitable projects in the Augusta area as well as gives grants to local teachers.
There are two outdoor events at the Phinizy Swamp Nature Park Saturday.
Bike Swamp Saturday will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the park. A leisurely mile and a half bike ride through the park will take patrons to places not accessible by hiking. The event is free.
Also Saturday, there will be a nature photography workshop at the park.
The workshop will be from 9 to 11 a.m. The cost is $5 for park members and $10 for non-members.
