I.A.M. Strong tour visits, encourages intervention
Recording artist Leigh
Jones signs autographs
during Fort Gordon’s
‘meet and greet’ session
on Feb. 14. Jones is
headlining the I. A.M.
STRONG musical/comedy
tour to 15 stateside and
9 overseas installations
to help raise awareness
about the prevention
of sexual assault and
harassment. The shows
began Feb. 5 at Fort Lee,
Va. and will end March
22 at U.S. Army Garrison,
Vicenza, Italy.
The I. A.M. STRONG
acronym stands for
intervene, act and
motivate others to stop
sexual harassment,
assaults and sexually
offensive language and
gestures that create an
environment for abuse.
Toleration of these acts
among troops has been
reduced to zero, Army
leaders say.
