Few people on post have made a New Year’s resolution to either lose weight or get fit. Andrew Kassheimer, the general manager of the Fort Gordon Fitness Center, Bldg. 29607, on Barnes Avenue wants to help Fort Gordon’s population accomplish this goal. Each week he or one of his personal trainers will be demonstrating a different exercise aimed at firming, toning, and trimming a specific area of the body. The exercises will be feature in the new column, “Extend to the Left,” in The Signal newspaper.

To kick this new column off Kassheimer and Kimberly Hawthorne, a personal trainer and Olympic hopeful, volunteered to demonstrate the T-Stabilization exercise.

I recommend starting with 15 to 20 repetitions.”

Kassheimer advised everyone to check with their family physician first before starting any exercise program.
