Canoe and Kayak Club of Augusta

The Canoe and Kayak Club of Augusta is a nonprofit organization in the Central Savannah River Area that promoted the sport of padding canoes and kayaks. Members share padding skills, techniques, adventures on the water and promote watersafety and conservation. The club meets at 7 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month at Warren Road Recreation Center.

Christmas House Golf Scramble

The local chapters of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, Signal Corps Regimental Association and Association of the United States Army will be co-hosting the annual Christmas House Golf Scramble benefiting the Fort Gordon Christmas House Dec. 4. It’s a captain’s choice golf scramble. Members of the Gordon Lakes Golf Courses pay $35; nonmembers pay $45. The entrance fee includes donuts/ coffee, range balls, cart, green fees, and lunch after the scramble. Registration runs from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. Shotgun starts at 9 a.m. Come out and supports the troops who need help this Christmas season.

Tactical Rifle Shoot

The Fort Gordon Sportsman’s Club and Blankenship Firearms LLC plan to host another Tactical Rifle Shoot in the near future. The shoot will be limited to .223 Remington and 5.56 mm rifles. There will be two classes: iron sights and optic. Targets will be 50 to 300 yards. Entry fee is normally $25. There will be prizes and giveaways.
