Need an I.D. card? Make an appointment

The Fort Gordon I.D. Card Facility transitioned to an appointment only system Nov. 1. The facility is located in Room 161 of Darling Hall.

Warriors in Transition Soldiers and their family members and spouses of survivors, who are accompanied by their Casualty Assistance Officers, will continue to receive priority service. Emergencies will be processed on a case-bycase basis.

Civilian Health Fair

Open Season for Federal Health Insurance is Nov. 9 - Dec. 14. The Health Fair will be held Dec.1 from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. at Darling Hall, Room 229 A and from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the DDEAMC, 4th floor entry.

Gate 5 Construction

Security upgrade construction continues at Gate 5, off Tobacco Road. The gate will remain open, but traffic will be inbound only from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, and two-way after 8:30 a.m. The traffic flow will be two-way on weekends.

Motorists are urged to slow down and exercise caution in the construction zone. There is a school zone nearby, as soon as drivers leave the gate area and enter Fort Gordon.

Traffic flow will be two-way on holiday weekends—Nov. 25-27 and Dec. 21-Jan.1. Estimated completion date is March 2010. For information, call (706) 791-4380.

Signal Conference in December

The U.S. Army Signal Center of Excellence will hold a world-wide conference Dec. 1-4 to discuss how to merge existing networks into one global network.

More than 300 military and contractors from around the world are expected at the conference. Sessions will be held throughout Fort Gordon.

Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Foley, commanding general, U.S. Army Signal Center of Excellence, will give a Chief of Signal update on Dec. 2 in Alexander Hall.

There will be forums for colonels, warrant officers, command sergeants major, and an update on Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T.)
