File photo After the inaugural art show at the Woodworth Consolidated Library last winter received such a positive response, librarian Jessica Thompson has decided to organize a second.
“It was nice to have,” said Thompson. “We had people who had never been here but came just for the art show.”
Submissions for the show will begin Dec. 1. Artwork will be on display through Jan. 25. It’s strictly an amateur art exhibit for those who live and work on Fort Gordon, retirees and their families, said Thompson.
There will be three age groups for submissions; 12 and under; 13 to 17 years-old and 18 and older. All media of creative works are encouraged for submission.
Last year, one entry was a decorative table.
“Photographs, paintings, sculpture, crafty items such as crochet” are welcomed, said Thompson, who wants as much variety as possible.
Library patrons will vote on their favorite pieces, and the top two winners in each age category will receive prizes. Winners will be announced Jan. 16.
