Need an I.D. card? Make an appointment

The Fort Gordon I.D. Card Facility transitioned to an appointment only system Nov. 1. The facility is located in Room 161 of Darling Hall.

Warriors in Transition Soldiers and their family members and spouses of survivors, who are accompanied by their Casualty Assistance Officers, will continue to receive priority service. Emergencies will be processed on a case-bycase basis.

Gift Wrapping

The Fort Gordon Service Club will provide holiday gift wrapping at the PX from

Dec. 1-24. Wrapping will be available during the PX’s operating hours. Several days will be set aside for other organizations to wrap. If you would like to be considered for one of these days as a fundraiser, please call Joanie Bryant at (706) 863-2931.

Civilian Health Fair

Open Season for Federal Health Insurance is Nov. 9 - Dec. 14. The Health Fair will be held Dec.1 from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. at Darling Hall, Room 229 A and from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the DDEAMC, 4th floor entry.

Gate 5 Construction

Security upgrade construction continues at Gate 5, off Tobacco Road. The gate will remain open, but traffic will be inbound only from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, and two-way after 8:30 a.m. The traffic flow will be two-way on weekends.

Motorists are urged to slow down and exercise caution in the construction zone. There is a school zone nearby, as soon as drivers leave the gate area and enter Fort Gordon.

GI Bill briefing

A briefing on the new Post 9/11 GI Bill Education Benefits Program has been scheduled for 10 to 11 a.m. Nov. 24 in Alexander Hall.

The Post 9/11 GI Bill provides financial support for education and housing to individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service on or after September 11, 2001, or individuals discharged with a serviceconnected disability after 30 days. The briefing is open to all Fort Gordon service members as well as all other interested parties.
