Can you make a difference in someone’s life today
Every dollar you give makes a difference in someone’s life. Whether you’re passionate about children, healthcare, animals, or something else, there’s a cause for everyone with more than 2,500 agencies from which to choose. You may question whether the money really ever reaches those in need. Just ask a Key Worker or Project Officer who went on tours of some of the local agencies back in September. They will tell you what the agencies do with the funds they receive and assure you that dollars raised through the CFC go directly to helping someone in need. Agencies like the Fort Gordon Fisher House are dependent on CFC donations. They offer the Families of wounded Soldiers the opportunity to stay in comfortable quarters in close proximity to loved ones who are hospitalized at Eisenhower Medical Center. Francisco Cruz, director of the Fort Gordon Fisher House, will tell you, “We couldn’t exist without donations received through the Combined Federal Campaign. We are absolutely dependent on these dollars for operation and we need the support we receive from our local Soldiers.” The American Red Cross of Augusta also greatly benefits from CFC dollars. In fact, your gifts ensure that the Red Cross is able to get in touch with Soldiers overseas should a Family emergency arise right here at home. “Even though we live in a world of cell phones and email, there are some communications that can only be handled with a human touch, like when a Family member at home is seriously ill.” said Sarah Townsend. “The Red Cross works with the military to get those messages delivered and to get those service members home to the bedside of their loved ones. Last year, the American Red Cross of Augusta provided this service to nearly 500 military members and Families.” Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Foley, who is serving as co-chair of this year’s Combined Federal Campaign for the Central Savannah River Area said, “Please join me and thousands of your fellow workers by supporting the CFC. This great campaign does enormous good for thousands of people here in our immediate area and around the world. I ask all installation personnel to consider contributing to the CFC and to consider becoming leadership givers.” It’s not too late to contribute to the CFC. Every dollar you give is 100% tax deductible and goes directly to the agency(ies) you designate. You can give the easy way through payroll deduction – it’s painless and a few dollars out of each paycheck goes a long way towards making a difference in someone’s life. You can give online at www.cfcofthecsra.org or simply ask your Key Worker or Project Officer for a pledge card.
