Get outside to a fall festival

Fall festival season is in full swing this weekend with several outdoor community events planned.
Two festivals are slated for downtown Augusta.
The 17th annual Hispanic Festival will be from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Oct. 10, and from noon to 6 p.m. Oct. 11, at the Augusta Common between Reynolds and Broad Streets.
Latin bands, authentic Hispanic cuisine from several countries, arts and crafts and children’s activities are part of the two-day event.
Admission is $2 with children under 10 and active duty military admitted free.

Just a few blocks away from the Hispanic Festival is the 20th annual Greek Festival from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 9 and Saturday, Oct. 10, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 11, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on Telfair Street.
The Greek Festival will feature Greek cuisine, Hellenic dance, a Greek market, church tours and a children’s play area.

In Columbia County, the second annual Columbus Day Festival will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 10, at the Columbia County Memorial Garden and Amphitheatre.
This event will feature Italian food, live entertainment, arts and crafts and a monster mural.
