9/11 Remembrance

Today at 8:46 a.m. Fort Gordon will observe two minutes of silence in memory of the nearly three thousand who died in the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center.

8:40 a.m - Emergency vehicles will be positioned at key intersections and all gates on Fort Gordon and employees will move outside, as mission requirements allow.

8:45 a.m. - two minutes of silence begins.

8:46 a.m. - Sirens will sound simulating the first strike on the World Trade Center.

8:47 a.m. - Ceremony at the Signal Towers Flag Pole to lower the U.S. Flag to half staff, with the Commanding General, Brigadier General Jeffrey Foley rendering honors.

Flag will remain at half staff until retreat at 5 p.m.
