Youth soccer

The Georgia-South Carolina Bulls Soccer Club is holding tryouts for youth summer camp programs. Tryouts are open to boys and girls ages 6-19. Camps are scheduled for 9 a.m.-1 p.m. July 6-10 at USC Aiken and July 26-29 at Hammonds Ferry.

The Bulls Soccer Club is a nationally recognized organization dedicated to educating and developing youth through soccer.

Hilltop Stables horse camp

Hilltop Riding Stables will host horse camps all summer long.

The dates of the camps are July 6 to 10, 13 to 17, 20 to 24 and 27 to 31; and August 3 to 7. The camp is for children ages 7 to 13. The cost is $200 for sponsored children and $225 for unsponsored. Reservations are required.

Biggest Loser Contest

The Fort Gordon Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation office is sponsoring Fort Gordon's Biggest Loser Contest. It's designed to help individuals obtain their ideal weight and body fat goal with a little competition thrown in, according to Darrell Young, D.M.T. Training, LLC owner.

The 90-day contest kicks off June 29 at the Fort Gordon Fitness Center, formerly known as Gym 4, located at Building 29607 Barnes Avenue. The event runs through Sept. 28.

Individuals can enter one of two categories: 250 pounds or 250 pounds and below. Participants can also sign up for a fourperson work group. Members can encourage and work together to reach their individual goal. There is a $25 entry fee and participants receive a 15 percent discount off their personal training sessions. Top prize is $500. A weekly prize will be given away to the individual with body fat percentage for that week.

Youth Fall Soccer

The U.S. Army Child, Youth and School Services at Fort Gordon are hosting Youth Fall Soccer for youngsters age 4 -18 years old June 29 through July 24. Games begin in early September. There's a onetime $45 registration fee. A parent or guardian can register their children at Central Registration, Building 28320, on Lane Avenue on post. Physicals are required at time of registration. Youngsters of active duty military members, Department of Defense civilian employees, contractors and military retirees are eligible to participate.
