Woodworth Library provides summer Family fun
Despite the hot and humid weather early on June 17, chil- dren and their parents filled the field next to Woodworth Consolidated Library for games and prizes as part of the summer reading program.

On June 17, children were divided into age groups and allowed to compete for prizes such as gift certificates to Barnes and Noble, Gordon Lanes, Brusters' and Hilltop Riding Stables.
Sack races and other types of relays were on tap for the morning as was face painting, jumping on minitrampolines and playing with hula hoops.
During the months of June and July, military children are encouraged to read and "Be Creative at Your Library," which is the theme of this year's summer reading program.
Events are scheduled almost each week.
While at the events, librarians hope parents will check out books for their children to read.To receive a gift bag at the end of the summer, children must have read 10 books. Children who have not learned to read yet must have 10 books read to them.
Upcoming events include the Eudora Farms Petting Zoo at 10 a.m. July 1; sidewalk chalk day at 10 a.m. July 15 and That Puppet Guy - Lee Bryan at 10 a.m. July 23. The end of the summer reading cook-out will be at 10 a.m. July 19.
