Military Spouse Day

Fort Gordon and Balfour Beatty Communities will celebrate Military Spouse Appreciation Day 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 8 on Pecan Court in McNair Terrace Housing area.

There will be information booths set up by corporate sponsors, food, door prizes, a puppet show for the children and a cakecutting at noon.

White House positions

The White House Communications Agency Recruiting Team will visit Fort Gordon

May 11-15 to select and nominate qualified Soldiers possessing primary military occupational specialties utilized in the presidential support activity.

Selected Soldiers will provide optimum support to the Commander in Chief, the White House and the U.S. Secret Service. The initial briefing will be on 9:30 a.m.

May 11 in Alexander Hall.

Joint graduation

The Education and Services Division and the Directorate of Human Resources invite the Fort Gordon community to attend commencement exercises 2 p.m. June 3 in Alexander Hall.

Degrees will be conferred by Brenau University, Central Michigan University, Georgia Military College, Paine College, Southern Illinois University, Troy University and University of Maryland. The ESD will close at 1 p.m. and resume normal operating hours at 8 a.m. June 4.

Civilian of the Quarter

Nominations for the Fort Gordon Civilian of the Quarter for the Third Quarter Fiscal Year 2009, ending June 30 must be submitted by June 15 to Bridgette Hagen, Civilian Personnel, via e-mail

bridgette.hagen1@us.army.mil. Narrative should not exceed two pages.

Nominations must be approved by the organizational director. Nominations are being accepted for GS 9-11, NL 14-15, NS 12-17, WG 8-12, WL 7-10, WS 3-7, NF 4, and equivalent NSPS pay bands. An organization may submit only one nomination per quarter. For more information call (706) 791-3956.
