Planning yields surprise avoidance
Tom Fitzpatrick Plans Training Mobilization Security director

All indications are that the H1N1 flu threat is diminishing. Nonetheless staffs should be reviewing the installation Pandemic/Bio Response Plan.

Some highlights from the plan include the following offered as good for preparation and surprise avoidance.

Building 21716 is the designated isolation site if hospital approaches six personnel requiring isolation. The building must be emptied on short notice (less than six hours). Forward Operation Base Dunham will be the jump location for occupants of Building 21716 training here, until they can deploy to field / home station. Gym 5 will be the overflow for that building if more space is needed. Gym 3 and the Welcome Center are alternate TRIAGE locations, on order, so flu patients can be evaluated out of the hospital.

A daily situation report on H1N1 from county, Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center and Department of Defense sources will be disseminated to all commanders/ directors and all users if community wide actions are needed. When necessary command information will be disseminated via The Signal newspaper.
