SCRA raises $1,700 for charities
      Fort Gordon members hit the greens May 1 at the Gordon Lakes Golf Courses to raise money for local charities. More than $1,700 was raised at the Signal Corps Regimental Association Adolphus Greely Chapter Annual Golf Scramble, according to Rodolfo Fuentes, the event planner.

U.S. Army Signal Center working with explorer
      Before the Summer ends, explorer Wave Vidmark will set out to cross the Atlantic Ocean on a 3,300 mile journey alone in a row boat. Now he is building the boat on the banks of the Savannah River in North Augusta, S.C. There are many unique aspects to his planned odyssey.

Patriots topple DDEAMC in play-off finals
      The 551st Signal Battalion, also known as the "Patriots," took the first place trophy home after defeating the post hospital in the 2009 Battalion Basketball Championship final playoff game held April 29 at Gym 5. They defeated Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center by a 14 point spread. Patriots won the game 52 - 38.

      SCRA Spring Challenge The 17th Annual Signal Corps Regimental Association Spring Challenge 2009 is slated for May 16 at Fort Gordon. The Kids One Mile Run/Walk kicks off at 7:30 a.m.; the individual 10K Run/Walk begins at 8 a.m. Starting point is at Building 24402 on 25th and Lane Avenue.
