Year of the NCO Walk-a-thon

Join the installation command sergeant major for a Year of the NCO Walk-a-thon, 4:30 p.m. March 17, 19, 24 and 26 around Barton Field.

The assembly point is at Barton Field's new amphitheater and will cover a 2 mile walk around Barton Field. March is Year of the NCO physical fitness month.

Softball registration

The United States Military Softball program is accepting team registrations through

March 20 for the upcoming season. All military, retirees, Department of Defense employees, dependents and military contractors are eligible to participate in this league.

Hilltop Riding Stable

Spring camp registration is now available at Hilltop Riding Stables, which is located on North Range Road, Building 509. Spring camp will be held from April 6-10. Hilltop Riding Stable offers a variety of Family fun opportunities.

Indoor Swimming Pool

A 50-meter Olympic size indoor pool is located on the corner of 25th Street and Barnes Avenue in Building 21608. The pool is open Monday through Saturday. A valid military, dependent or Department of the Army ID is required to use the facility. Active Duty can swim for free 6 to 8 a.m. Monday through Friday.

Senior citizens' swim is from 10 to 11 a.m.; lap swimming is from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. and open swim is from 1 to 6:45 p.m. Monday through Friday. On Saturdays the pool is open from noon to 6:45 p.m.for open swimming.

Daily and monthly lockers are available.

Cost is $3 per person per day with a valid ID card. One, three and six month passes are available as well as annual passes for individuals and Families.

AUSA golf tournament

The Association of the United States Army will host its annual golf tournament beginning 1 p.m. April 23 at Gordon Lakes Golf Courses. The rain date is

April 27.

Check in time is 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Play will be an 18 hole- 4 person team, Lauderdale format with a shotgun start. The entry fee is $45 for Gordon Lakes Golf Course's members and $55 for non-members. The fee includes cart, greens fees, range balls and lunch. Advance sign-up can be completed in Room 101a of Brant Hall.
