Employees of Cooper Construction of Vidalia, Ga., William Vaughn ( and Johnny Harrington are installing new piping Feb. 17 between Dining Facility #6 and Company D, 551st Signal Battalion, Building 25716, near 27th Street. This part of the high temperature pipe upgrade project began October 2008 and will take 18 months to complete at a cost of about $5 million, according to one of the company's supervisor. The new piping is also being run across Barton Field.
