"In the circus, balance is very important," said Dave Gregg.

The Greggs presented the Circus Fit message Saturday.

They talked a little about eating the right types of food, getting plenty of sleep and exercise.

They demonstrated the exercise part through some audience participation to the song Move It. Jumping jacks and stretches were part of the mini-aerobics workout.

Then it was onto some circus style balancing.

Audience members learned the art of balancing a peacock feather on their hands, elbows, chins and noses.

Then, Dave Gregg performed a few balancing tricks he told the children not to imitate at home including balancing a few chairs on his chin.

The clowns were in town for a series of presentations prior to the arrival of the circus at the end of March.

In addition to the Circus Fit program at Fort Gordon, they presented a literacy message at several elementary schools including Diamond Lakes and Haines Elementary Schools on Monday and Hornsby and Meadowbrook Elementary Schools on Tuesday.

The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus will present shows at 7 p.m., March 26 and 27, at 3 and 7 p.m. March 28, and 1:30 p.m., March 29 at the James Brown Arena. Active duty military receive a $7 discount.
