HHC, 67th Signal Battalion grabs tough win

HHC, 67th held on to win a closely contested match 62 to 58. A delay in the game left Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 67th Signal Battalion down one player during the second half of the game held Feb. 12 at Gym 5. Damon Dash, #30, just didn't see eye to eye with one of the game referees' call and he let him know it.
Dash was ordered off the court and out of the building. His team was charged with three technical fouls. This was a sweet call for Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center players. Three technical fouls on Dash and a foul commited against DDEAMC's #35 Gerald Merriweather earned Merriweather nine uncontested throws at the basket.
During the first half HHC 67 lead 35 to 25 after earning three team fouls. DDEAMC accumulated six team fouls.
After HHC, 67th lost Dash they played more aggressively to hold the lead. A raging battle took place on the court. First HHC, 67th was ahead; then DDEAMC stole the lead.
It went back and forward. There were a lot of ball grabbing and stealing. DDEAMC racked up 8 team fouls; HHC, 67th earned 10.
Kendrick Johnson, #3, for HHC, 67th, earned the team 8 points with four successful 2 point field goals. Paul Singletary, #11, earned 6 points and sank a 1 point foul shot. Johnny Franklin, #5, earned a 2 point field goal plus two successful foul shots. Jay Glover, #2, earned the team 6 points with a successful 3 point and 2 point field goal and a completed free shot. Dash earned the team a 2 point field goal before being tossed out of the game.
Merriweather accumulated the most points for D DDEAMC during the second half with 9 successful free throws and two 3 point field goals. Charles Lewis, #6, earned two 3 point field goals and three successful free throws. Cory Puckett, #34, made one 3 point field goal and a 2 point field goal. Joshua Collins, #45, earned a 2 point field goal. Donald Forte, #40, also earned a 2 point field goal.
HHC, 67th finally won the game by four points. Final score: 62 to 58.
