Local student gives back to Soldiers
      Audriana Llinas, a Greenbrier High School senior and Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training cadet, organized a 5K run recently to raise money for the Warrior Transition Battalion and Fort Gordon's Fisher House as part of her senior project. More than 700 people showed up for the event that was held on the track around Barton Field Jan 31.

Patriot Games
     (Editor's note: This photostory is a preview of more extensive coverage of this really great event. Next week you can see more on the Spectrum page.) Soldiers from the 551st Signal Battalion underwent Patriot Challenge III as part of the Battalion's effort to build esprit de corps and unit cohesion among members of its organization. Every quarter during holiday weekends, the battalion members gather to participate in these challenges. Events include litter carries, four Soldier Army Physical Fitness Test, ultimate football and basketball, volleyball, tug-o-war, crawling derby, and drill and ceremony competitions. Not only are Soldiers tested on their physical fitness endurance but also on their combat skills. Patriot Challenge IV will be conducted during the Memorial Day weekend. Patriots, Watch and Warn.

HHC, 67th Signal Battalion grabs tough win
      A delay in the game left Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 67th Signal Battalion down one player during the second half of the game held Feb. 12 at Gym 5. Damon Dash, #30, just didn't see eye to eye with one of the game referees' call and he let him know it.

Sports Update
      Masters badges The Masters Credentials Committee has made available a number of series badges for purchase by active duty military members at Fort Gordon. Badges will be purchased by the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation and resold at $50 per day. Badges are not eligible to participate in the Augusta National's Junior Pass Program.
