Tuskegee Airmen encore
A sold-out auditorium meant about 200 would-be viewers of the Jan. 17 premiere of In Their Own Words: The Tuskegee Airmen at the Imperial Theatre had to be turned away.
An encore showing will be at 7 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Imperial Theatre.
The documentary features "emotional interviews, rare photographs, and computergenerated recreations," according to a news release.
Tickets are $15 each. Also, after the showing, there will be an opportunity for audience members to meet some of the original Tuskegee Airmen featured in the film.
Casa Blanca on Broad Street will be the site of an Oscar party Sunday beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Patrons will be treated like stars as they make a red carpet entrance, enjoy "Hollywood" style appetizers and watch the awards ceremony on a big screen television. Prizes will be awarded in a "guess the winner contest."

The annual Battle of Aiken re-enactment will be this weekend. The award-winning living history event will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 21 and Feb. 22 off Powell Pond Road in Aiken. There are signs from I- 20 to Highway 19 leading the way.
The event re-enacts a Civil War battle in Aiken, S.C. in 1865. There will be 1,000 Soldiers, 100 cavalry and 20 cannons.
Also, there will be other historical re-enactors focusing on the women's role in the war and hospital techniques. All of the re-enactors will be dressed in clothing of the time, and music of the era will be featured as well.
