Tax Center

The Fort Gordon Tax Center is now open for business at The Courtyard Tuesday through Saturday. Hours of operation are: Tuesday and Wednesday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday noon to 8 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Walk-in service is available.

Arbor Day observance

Fort Gordon will celebrate Arbor Day with a tree planting 11 a.m. today in Heritage Park, at the intersection of Rice Rd. and Lane Ave.

Two redbud trees will be planted by Col. John Holwick, garrison commander, and Kathy Black from the Georgia Forestry Commission and a Wounded Warrios and Family.

This is the 16th year that Fort Gordon has been designated a Tree City USA.

Divorce counseling for Families

Army Community Service Family Advocacy Program is sponsoring a monthly class for parents to help children impacted by divorce.

The classes will be held noon to 4 p.m. the first Wednesday in March, May, July, September and November in the Family Outreach Center, Building 33512, behind the Woodworth Library.

The class is free to all military identification cardholders and Department of the Army civilians. Preregistration is required. The class provides tools that help Families move through significant change. Some of the topics include: The Parent Trap, Considering the Consequences; Healthy Communication during Divorce and Separation; Who Needs Counseling and more.

Access gates for Fort Gordon are sometimes closed. Following are the hours the gates are open:

Gate #1 24 hours 7 days a week Gate #5 24 hours 7 days a week Gate #2 Monday through Friday 4:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. through 6 p.m. Gate #3 Monday through Friday 5:30 a.m. through 3:30 p.m.

Closed Saturday and Sunday.
