Marcus Price and Gino Mingo said they came to Fort Gordon to express their appreciation to Soldiers for their service and commitment. After having breakfast, they had a small group discussion, took pictures and visited with Command Sgt. Maj. Victor Praymous, Regimental Noncommissioned Officers Academy commandant. The men were presented with Army values posters, copies of the NCO Creed and the Regimental and Commandant's Coins of Excellence. Price, born in Port Arthur, Texas is a graduate of Louisiana State. He began his 11 year NFL career with the Jacksonville Jaguars and ended with the Dallas Cowboys. Mingo, who also played for the Cowboys, is now a pastor with Morning Star International Ministries and Champions for Christ. The two have formed a Gospel singing group known as Distinguished and were in Augusta for a concert at Macedonia Baptist Church. Price has pledged to return for the physical training run he missed and they both said they hope to visit Fort Gordon again. (Above right) Mingo signs autographs after the session. Courtesy photos |
