Firefighters win World competitions
Members of Fort Gordon's Fire Department have more bragging rights amongst their colleagues this week after the recent Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge in Las Vegas.

The Fort Gordon team won several of the events. Cunningham is wearing his trademark competition mask. Brandon Cunningham adds three more world championship rings to his collection after the recent competition, according to assistant fire chief Matthew Williams.
"He's a three-peater," he said.
Cunningham won the individual competition for the third consecutive year and set a world record with his victory with Anthony McMurtry in the tandem competition with a time of 1:12.68.
Cunningham also paired with Canadian Jacqueline Rasenberg to capture the coed tandem title. Rasenberg finished third in the female category.
In the overall team category, the department finished fifth, and in the team relay, the 2007 world champions were third.
"We had one mistake in the relay," said Williams. "We had the fastest time throughout the whole competition on the last run."
Williams said third in the relay is nothing shabby.
"It's still very respectable out of 100 teams," he said.
More than 1,000 firefighters and 100 teams competed in the event which uses firefighter skills in a timed contest.
