The tale of gamblers, a mission doll and a showgirl with a heart of gold will be staged to raise money for people with kidney disease this weekend.

Guys and Dolls will be presented today through Sunday in Aiken as part of the Aiken Kidney Benefit.

The show will be performed at 8 p.m. today and at 3 and 8 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at the University of South Carolina Aiken Etherredge Center. Tickets are $20 for the evening shows and $16 for the matinees.

More than $130,000 has been raised through the annual benefit to assist patients with kidney disease who are undergoing dialysis. Funds are used to cover expenses not covered by insurance.

At the Dupont Planetarium this weekend, learn about NASA's 50 years of space exploration with the To the Moon and Beyond program.

The show highlights the past, present and future of lunar exploration. Also, it discusses the attributes of the moon itself. Weather permitting, guests will view the moon via the Bechtel telescope.

Show times are 7 and 8 p.m.. Tickets are $4.50 for adults, $3.50 seniors and $2.50 students 4K-12th grade. For more information, call (803) 641-3654.
