Brackett After serving as musical director of Fort Gordon Dinner Theatre's Forever Plaid in the summer of 2006, Les Reagan couldn't wait to get a chance to work on its sequel Plaid Tidings.

However, he wanted to do one thing differently this time.

He wanted to be in it.

"I think I'm reincarnated from the 1940s. I love the tight harmonies of the Lettermen, Four Tops, and singers like Rosemary Clooney, Bing Crosby, Perry Como," said Reagan, who plays the role of Frankie.

The original show is about four young singers who are killed in a car crash in the 1950s on their way to their first big concert. They are brought back to play one concert. In the sequel, they return to bring some harmony in a discordant world.

While there is some music ala the 1940s, cast members said there are tunes which cover many genre including rap.

A highlight of the show is the "riotous three minute and eleven second version of "The Ed Sullivan Show" - this time featuring the Rockettes, the Chipmunks and The Vienna Boys Choir, and a Plaid Caribbean Christmas which puts the "Day-O" in Excelsis!," according to the dinner theater webpage at www.fortgordon.com.

Two members of the foursome are new to the cast, but there are two original cast members.

Steve Hansen and Dale Kuehl are reprising their roles.

"I had a ball the first time," said Hansen.

The tight harmonies have proven to be challenging for the cast especially when they will only have six weeks of rehearsal by the time the show opens on Nov. 14.

Reagan and Ryan Abel wrapped up roles in Jekyll and Hyde: the Musical with the Augusta Players prior to beginning rehearsals at Fort Gordon.

Plaid Tidings will be presented Nov. 14, 15, 21 and 22 and Dec. 4, 5 and 6. Dinner will be at 7 p.m. followed by the show at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $39 for civilians, $36 for seniors 65 and older, retirees, Department of the Army civilians, active duty E7 and above, $30 active duty E7 and below and $25 for the show only.
