Beneficiary flu shots correction
      An incorrect date for beneficiary shots was published Oct. 17. The correct date and times for beneficiaries to receive flu shots is 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Nov. 15 in the Family Medicine Clinic on the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center second floor. No appointments are required to take advantage of the flu shots.

      FORT RUCKER, Ala. — The U.S. Army Combat Readiness/ Safety Center has developed a Range & Weapons Safety Toolbox to help commanders and leaders prevent weapons handling accidents on military ranges. From fiscal 2000 through the first quarter of fiscal 2008, 62 Class A through C weapons-handling accidents occurred on military ranges.

Office closure announcement
      The ID Cards/DEERS office in Darling Hall will be closed Dec. 15-17 for a system upgrade to RAPIDS 7.3. After the upgrade, all personnel will require two valid forms of identification (one must be from Group A listed below) before being issued a new identification card. Normal business hours will resume 7:30 a.m., Dec. 18.

Fort Gordon continues drawing entertainment accolades
      Each year, Fort Gordon receives many accolades from the Army Festival of the Performing Arts, and this year was no exception receiving the most awards of any other garrison. The Fort Gordon Dinner Theatre summer production of Meshuggah-Nuns received a second place for musical production.

Red Cross volunteers

Quilters weave memories into efforts
      When Angie Faircloth's husband, Brice, died on Veterans Day 2003, she wanted to do something in his memory and in honor of those he'd served with during his 20 years in the Army. "I wanted to make a quilt for every patient at the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home," said Faircloth.
