Exercise of the week
STARTING POSITION:
Select the desired weight on the Nautilus Nitro Plus machine. Sit on the seat of the fitness equipment and reach up to grasp handles overhead. Your feet should be flat on the floor.
EXECUTION:
Pull the handles down to the top of your chest. Keep your back straight throughout the movement. With the handles at your chest, squeeze your lats, and then slowly return the bar to the starting position. This is one complete lat pull-down. April Parker, a NuCo personal trainer at Fort Gordon Fitness Center, recommends 8-10 repetitions, three sets. Exercise works the Latissimus dorsi, or lats, which are the long back muscles that run under the arms on either side of your back.
